To celebrate Daughter’s Day, Public Relations Council of India, PRCI, Delhi Chapter organised a site visit to Holy Family Ashaniwas, an orphanage for girls located in Mahavir Nagar, Delhi.

This was an annual event organised by PRCI on a pan India basis to create awareness about a girl child. This year the event has got added impetus with the launch of ‘Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao’ by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. This initiative by PRCI brought a lot of joy into the lives of the 40 girls residing in Ashaniwas, who are being looked after by a dedicated team headed by Sister Suzan.

The girls were happy to greet the PRCI Delhi members and sang a heart-warming welcome and prayer song.

Mr. N.D. Rajpal, Chairman, Governing Council PRCI interacted with the girls and explained the importance of education in their lives

Dr. Gaganjit Singh, Chairman, Delhi Chapter encouraged the girls to talk about their areas of interest. He also interacted with the staff to discuss further possibilities of aid to be given.

They distributed study material, games and bedsheets to all the girls.
